Clinical Supervision

Support for the practitioner as well as the practice

Supervision should be a place where you can talk honestly about your work – including the sessions that went well, the ones that left you uncertain and the clients who stay in your thoughts long after the session has ended.

I’m a qualified Clinical Supervisor offering a warm, collaborative and reflective approach to supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as professionals working within other helping roles.

For me, good supervision isn’t simply about meeting professional requirements. It’s an opportunity to step away from the demands of your work and think openly about your clients, your therapeutic relationships and your own responses as a practitioner.

There should be room for uncertainty.

You don’t need to arrive at supervision with all the answers – and you certainly don’t need to pretend that every session went perfectly.

Together we can explore what happened, what might be happening within the therapeutic relationship, ethical or safeguarding considerations, and what you may need in order to continue working safely, confidently and authentically.

I offer individual and group clinical supervision in Aylesbury.

Supervision for trainee counsellors

Beginning client work can be both exciting and daunting.

I particularly value supporting trainees as they develop their own therapeutic identity, build confidence in their judgement and begin translating what they have learned in training into real therapeutic relationships.

My role isn’t to turn you into the kind of counsellor I am. It is to help you develop into the counsellor you are becoming.

Supervision for qualified and experienced practitioners

For qualified and experienced practitioners, supervision offers space to reflect more deeply on client work, explore complex dynamics, consider ethical issues and notice the impact the work may be having upon you.

It can also provide somewhere to think about your continuing professional development and how your practice is evolving.

Supervision for other helping professionals

I also offer reflective supervision to professionals in helping roles where there is a need for a confidential space to think about the emotional impact of the work, professional boundaries, relationships and safeguarding responsibilities.

Safeguarding experience

Alongside my therapeutic experience, I have extensive professional experience relating to safeguarding and child protection.

This enables safeguarding concerns to be brought into supervision thoughtfully and openly, while maintaining appropriate focus on professional responsibilities, ethical practice and client welfare.
